De leukste musea van Amsterdam e1461515578715

Amsterdam has about 75 different museums. Lots of choice, but which museum should you really see? Our 9 favorites:

  • Anne Frank House; The Diary of Anne Frank has become an impressive museum where you can directly step into history. A must for anyone.
  • Rijksmuseum; always wanted to see the Night Watch? Then grab your chance. Tip: The museum is huge, but if you do an audio tour, you can also limit it to the most important paintings from the museum.
  • Nemo; Discover the world of science and technology in a very interactive way. It’s all about ‘do it yourself and discovery’ in this great science centre. Educational and great fun for everyone from approximately 7 years.
  • Foam; the most famous photography museum in the capital.
  • Scheepsvaartmuseum; the Netherlands and the history of navigation. Many interactive parts and a good combination with the nearby Nemo Museum.
  • Tropenmuseum; Cultures come to life when you make a journey through time and a trip around the world in this beautiful museum. In addition to works of art you’ll find utensils, film, music and photos there.
  • Stedelijk Museum; For anyone who likes modern and contemporary art.
  • Van Gogh Museum; The name says it all … the main course is Van Gogh with a side of Van Gogh and for dessert.. cha!
  • Hermitage; a branch of the famous Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia. Only the beautiful historic building on the Amstel is more than worth visiting. Many various art exhibitions partly with a Russian theme.

And there are even more options for real museum lovers; look once more at the Jewish Historical Museum, the Museum of Bags, Amsterdam Museum, Allard Pierson Museum, Rembrandt House, Resistance museum and more …
