A stone’s throw from the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower, is one of the liveliest streets of Beijing. Nanluogo Xiang is a long pedestrian alley full of shops, boutiques, cafes and stalls selling Chinese delicacies on both sides of the street. A tad touristy (mostly Chinese tourists know how to find it), but super cosy and the ultimate place to buy souvenirs in the afternoon and try out all kinds of drinks and snack.
Tip for a short walk
Start at the Drum Tower and Bell Tower. Stroll through the also fun street of Gulou Dongdajie to the Nanluogu Xiang alley, after about 10 to 15 minute walking, on your right. Then you can walk down the entire street. At the end of the street is Nanluoguxian metro station so you can effortlessly go back to your hotel or hostel.
