Ulaanbaatar has many local restaurants where you can make acquaintance with the Mongolian cuisine. Mongolian beers, however, were often served uncooled in our experience, that’s why we have this tip: drink a real Mongolian cold beer in the Grand Khaan Irish Pub. The pub has a large interior and a lovely terrace. Our favourite beer brands: Genghis Beer and Legend Beer.
Now you’re here; Also take a look at the menu. Between all the western food you will find a box with Mongolian dishes. Because the Mongols are primarily carnivores, vegetarians amongst us were pleasantly surprised with the Mongolian vegetarian dishes we encountered on the menu. We really enjoyed the vegetable dumplings and vegetable tsuivan (see photo).
