Enjoy a coke or cocktail while you gaze at the beautiful view of the city? The best bars at high altitude in a row:
Floor 17: a view of Amsterdam from one of the highest rooftop terraces, located on the 17th floor of the Ramada hotel on the Rembrandtpark. You can choose from the sky bar, the rooftop terrace or bistro. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or sipping a cocktail; it is all there. Floor 17, also organizes regular rooftop movie nights with drinks and snacks.
Twenty Third Bar: In the famous luxury Okura Hotel in Ferdinand Bolstraat, you can enjoy a drink at the champagne cocktail bar. Buy cocktails from € 15, the phenomenal view of this 23rd floor you get for free. Next to the bar is the famous Ciel Blue restaurant, which is renowned for excellent sushi and has two Michelin stars.
Blue: On the 3rd floor of Kalvertoren mall (on the Kalverstraat side of the Mint Tower) you’ll find this little cafe that is targeting shoppers. It is a slightly less spectacular 360 degree view than the other bars in this category, but you also pay reasonable, normal prices for Amsterdam. Are you in the area, then definitely step in for a pit stop during a day of shopping.
SkyLounge: on the roof of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, next to the Central Station, you will find this trendy bar. Open daily from 11:00 in the morning, with some Friday evenings in the month, the recurring RoofTop Sessions with DJs and jazz. SkyLounge Amsterdam is not the cheapest Skybar. A coffee or tea you order for € 7.50 (including a refill) and wine comes from € 8, – over the counter. But if you manage it, then it’s not hard to enjoy one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful views at your feet.
