Trading whilst sailing at the Floating Market

Drijvende markt in Bangkok e1455403084661

Experience how Thai people do business on the canals of Bangkok! A trip to one of the floating markets is a “must” during your visit to Bangkok.
There are multiple possibilities:

Damnoen Saduak

Just outside Bangkok, you will find Damnoek Saduak. We really recommend it and you can visit the market by boat yourself. You will see quite a few other tourists, but you will get the full “floating market experience”. The market is opened daily, but only in the morning.

Do you think that Damnoen Saduak is too touristy? Choose for the smaller and more authentic market called Amphawa. Besides, this is a good choice if you want to sleep in till late. Amphawa only comes to life during the afternoon.
Only opened during the weekend.

Tha Kha and Taling Chan

Or visit the Tha Kha weekend market (only during the weekend in the beginning of the afternoon) or Taling Chan (weekends, opened all day), which are situated approximately 10 kilometres outside of the city centre and can be reached easily by bus, tuk tuk or taxi.
