Bangkok has many markets. To fully grasp the local way of living, you can not miss out on a visit to a market.
Chatuchak markt
The biggest market in Bangkok is Chatuchack. You will find thousands of stands with Thai products, books, music, flowers, art and also living animals. Opened on Saturday and Sunday.
Patpong night market
Without a doubt, the most famous night market is Patpong Night market, especially focused on tourists, but easy to reach since it is in the middle of the Patpong neighbourhood in the Silom district. Patpong is a well known nightlife area in Bangkok, filled with discos, cafes and GoGo-bars. Actually you are also right in the red light district of Bangkok. Opened every day in the evening hours.
Pratunam market
Pratunam Market is situated next to Siam Square and offers cheap clothes, perfumes, watches and more. Opened daily.
Rot Fai vintage market
During the weekend we can really recommend the Rot Fai Market. It’s a Vintage market situated next to an abandoned railway and train station. Vintage is hip and happening in Bangkok and this is why you will find the new youngest generation of Thai people. Colourful Volkswagen vans have been transformed into bars and at the stands you can look for retro or design furniture, nice vintage clothing, gadgets and other little things. Not too many tourists and a cosy market. Put it on your list! Opened in the evening hours during the weekend.
